Diving in Egypt

Since my trip to Oz got cancelled, I've decided to go diving in Egypt instead with Emilie, Klaus, and Jesper. Unfortunately some idiot terrorists decided to detonate a couple of bombs in the vicinity. The trip is in October/November, so hopefully the fear effects have been washes away by then. We'll keep checking our Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommendations on going.

RSS Feed

Cool! Playing around with SUSE I discovered an application called akregator which allows you to read RSS feeds. Using blogger you can create an RSS Feed from your website, allowing people who use akregator or a similar program to get automatic updates from your site. RSS Feeds can be found on many newspaper site, Slashdot.org, and thousands of others.
For the Windoze users I found attensa. It works the same as akregator and integrates into Outlook. It is FREE and pretty cool stuff.
Here is a link to my rss feed:

Linux@last

I finally got to the point where I changed to linux. I've had several installs of linux before on servers and development machines, but never on my home workstation - until last Saturday that is! SUSE 9.3 did the job - I was finally convinced. So far I haven't been disappointed. SUSE 9.3 installed without any hazzle - it actually took just 2½ hours to do a fresh install of Windows XP with SP2 and SUSE 9.3 complete with online updates. As you can see I still have Windows XP installed on my machine (dual boot), but my default boot is SUSE 9.3.
I was most impressed by the way that SUSE detected all my hardware - worked much better than Windows XP btw!
It is not a final goodbye to Windoze since I still have to use it for work-related stuff, but I think that I will be running linux on my machine @ home from now on. It just feels and looks better.

AdventureQuest

Need a little levelling up? Here's a fun little online RPG. The battles are a little slow to begin with, but become more interesting when you get a class.

Have a look at my first character here.

Sheep Station Cup

This weekend The Barracudas are hosting the Sheep Station Cup at Stefan. Looking forward to a good tournament with teams from England, Belgium, Sweden, and Denmark. Defending champions, Reading Kangaroos, from England are attending and so are The Brussels Saints, which we played in Brussels in our pre-season game.
